What is the best treatment for wooden decking?

Having spent the best part of this weekend raking out debris, and pressure washing our deck. I now probably need to treat the wood with some sort of preservative? But what is best?

There is so much choice. Oil/stain/ coloured stuff? I am a bit loath to use a coloured outdoor paint as the deck is massive (probably around 75meters square). I don’t want to have to do it too often. It can look terrible once it starts flaking off and gets weathered.
My father in law (who lives with us) wants to put anti slip paint on it as he thinks it will be like an ice rink in the winter time. Not sure how long the decking has been down for as we only moved in this year, but it seems in good condition with no rotting.
Recommendations welcome!

This is the one I use. I find I have to pressure wash and treat it every 6 months.

I had to treat mine with algecide a couple of years ago as it had got slippy. Since then it's been fine.

We use decking oil. Tried the paint stuff once and it flakes off and makes the decking look terrible.

Basically any oil based product.

I can get Teak Oil cheap so use that for my fence panels. It’s all about getting oil into the pores so any product will do. The two things required are to repel the rain and thus preserve the product.

Thanks for the replies. I will look at those things. Gosh every 6 months! That’s going to be a right chore.
