We’ve just tried him for his first walk since the attack and he was a wee superstar.

He walked happily and even went past where the attack happened with no hesitation.

I was a nervous wreck, my heart was in my mouth the whole time, but I tried to keep it all positive for him and not show how anxious we were I didn’t want him to pick up on it. My DH brought a big walking stick with him just in case anything else happened, but was all good 😊

Just good to get the first walk over and done with ❤️ Xx

So happy to read he wasn't fearful 😊

We also used to carry a walking stick for exactly the same reason 👍.
Hopefully you will never have the need to use it but it is reassuring.

Just a final update, we’ve been back to vets this morning and Casper has been discharged 🎉

His stitches were taken out and he doesn’t need a second operation as all the skin has healed well.

The vet was delighted with his progress, he was a bit uncomfortable over the weekend, I think his stitches were nipping him so now they’re out he should be a lot happier.

I’m so happy and thankful 🥳🥰

Yes the dog warden has been in contact with us, she is coming to see us this week to take statements from myself and my DH, and then she will contact the family of the other dog.

She was on annual leave, and she also wanted to wait until Casper was discharged from the vet so she had a full report of his injuries before she went any further .
