12th Night

I know there’s a separate thread about taking down your decorations but who can tell me if 12th night is the 5th or 6th January please.

Google says both 🙄

I take mine down on the 6th every year. No idea if that’s right or not 🤷

I always do the 5th. Its 12 days of Christmas so it depends if you count the 25th as the first day or the 26th as day 1. I think the 25th is day 1.
I also think the premier inn the night before florida is day 1 of the holiday!

Always on the 6th for us. Christmas essentially ends at 23.59.59 on the 5th.

I really don't want to take my tree down this year, the twinkly lights cheer me up, I did say I was going to keep it up till I got my vaccine 😳but then read it was bad luck lol not tempting fate.

The 6th it will be then. I’ve especially enjoyed the lights this Christmas & NY, so warming somehow.

I’ll have to get a few candles going once the lights are down, to continue the glow & flicker.

I'm so glad you asked that. It was always the 6th when I was a child. Mine are usually down after New Year but then we are usually celebrating grandsons birthday today and getting ready to go to Florida.

It is confusing as some say midnight on the 5th so nothing left on the 6th and other searches say remove them by midnight on the 6th. Mine are still up but I will start taking some down tomorrow as I am back in work on Tuesday. I will leave the little tree until wed night. I have enjoyed the lights and looking at all mt Disney baubles- this is the first year since 1999 that i haven't had a Disney year bauble for the shop in DTD/ Disney springs
