Genie and park reservations

Hi all, has anyone read anywhere that you will still need park reservations when the new genie app starts? We are travelling Oct 2022 and after speaking to wdw travel co who I have booked my hotel accommodation with she was pushing me to also buy my park tickets so I could make park reservations for next year “as we will be going at a very busy time”. I felt like she was pressuring me to add the tickets just so I can make park reservations but from what I have read about genie is that if you have a park hopper ticket you can go to four parks in a day ... does that mean no more park reservations?

Yes, you will still need park reservations. Park hopping doesn't make a difference. Hopping is available now but you still have to reserve your first park.

You won't need to make them until a few weeks in advance, except for maybe Halloween in MK depending on your dates. The CM when I last phoned was very pushy about park reservations as well, and I'm not going until December 2022 - before the Christmas crowds, so capacity will not be an issue.

It's been confirmed they will run through at least the end of next year, but they are more than likely going to be permanent. They're no longer being used for capacity limits so could have been scrapped months ago.

Thanks for your reply, she was really quite pushy to the point of being rude about it and making me feel like I had no idea what I was doing ... I was telling her that I was unhappy about no longer being able to buy a 21 day park ticket and she said well just each buy a 14 day and a 7 day ticket ! Err... no thanks we will just spend the time doing non Disney things on our third week !
