Yeah the 14 day ticket wont go as they make more money keeping you in the parks. I can see them trying to "force" you to pay for Genie+ for the whole 14 days with marketing it as a must have.

I still think there could be an announcement for hotel benefits especially for the UK as a lot are already waking up to the fact that nearly all the perks are gone. The thing is for the UK they have no rush as at the moment the peak booking times are gone for this year and with no sign of being let in there is no need to offer anything at the moment.

I don't disagree with your first point, but media is a different division with separate profit targets to meet. If the parks division have been told to increase their revenue, they can only do this within the parks product.

No business is happy to have a failing division just because another part is doing well. While starting to be back in profit, parks still have a HUGE shortfall to make up for due to the closure and travel restrictions.

I e-mailed Disney to complain too.
I’m hoping that they get lots of complaints so that they know that not everyone is excited about having so much taken away then being presented with this Genie + to take more money from us.
I’ve not had a response yet though, just the automated response.

With such a negative reaction, I’m expecting Disney to make changes
Eventually I expect they will eventually give it for free to on site guests.

I’m gutted as it’s removed one of my favourite parts of a Disney holiday the planning side of it. I’m not going to cancel my booking for next year (I’m starting to fear that COVID will do that for me anyway) but if I get to go I fear it will be my last trip if it goes as badly as I fear

Honestly I’m not sure they will. They knew people wouldn’t be happy with it. They tested it in Paris, and to some degree in DL, I personally think the price of the individual attractions and what they are wasnt announced so they could see how bad the backlash was and adjust the cost and amount of rides depending on that. I think it’s more UK guests that aren’t happy, and we make up such a small proportion. I wouldn’t be surprised if the UK maybe see some benefit.

Judging by some social media, quite a few Americans are unhappy too.
