Do you have any advice about the traffic on the roads? I cycled a lot when I was younger but am concerned about cycling in roads now due to the busier traffic. Am I being unnecessarily too cautious?
Even after a week I’m seeing the benefits already.

With regards to traffic, if I’d had to cycle on the roads I may have thought harder about it, but I’m lucky in that I don’t have to go anywhere near a road due to our cycle path network.

I’m sure others will be able to give good advice on road cycling

Can I ask that, before it gets too dark you look at appropriate reflective gear if you haven't already done so?
It worries me how many cyclists go out without lights and reflective gear.

Also look at an app like Strava if you haven't already done so. It's great recording rides (not always accurately!) And compare how things are improving

Have to wear a high vis vest for work, so wear that while cycling. Also purchased new set of lights last week

I’m back longest ride in years, once I had it planned I couldn’t wimp out 🙊😩
Good thing going out at 5 in the morning didn’t have any cars overtake me for at least 12 miles 🙊🤩💪
Kept looking at my speedo & when I hit 25 miles I knew I was on my way home
Always always have lights front & back
Now I going to see if I can walk to town for my latte
And Wazza you won’t regret doing this, just be extra careful as it gets darker & slippy
Happy Sunday all

I used to ride from home to work in Orlando. 8 miles. I only used the pavement because of they way some people drive here. From October to May it was great...from June to September it was like being in a sauna for an hour.
Healthy though, and saved money.
