Hmm.. If we are stepping outside of the U.K…

Pensacola Beach.. You can’t beat some heat in the water, and that is what the U.K. lacks.

Poldhu Beach in Cornwall, never overly busy, but has a lovely beach café, that has live traditional music some nights. Catching the sun going down in just beautiful and we always try to make a visit when at the families!

Filey is pretty good. It was Times best beach in UK 2018, was Tripadvsor best beach in the world list too. We stay at The Bay right next to it. ariaresorts/our-re...the-bay-filey/ . Short trip to Whitby.

Not a beach per se (well it has a small one) but I was at Ansteys Cove a few weeks ago in Devon and that’s very nice. Good to kayak around the cove and see the porpoises.

Kinshaldy beach north of St Andrews. Stretches from near (ex) RAF Leuchars to Tayport. As a kid I used to love walking the beach searching for WW2 bullet cartridges and shells and playing in amongst the pillar boxes and tank traps. There was also one that you could access and walk through a tunnel and come out into Tentsmuir Forrest, although I’d imagine that it’s blocked off now. The mournful sounds of the seals are soothing amongst the wind and waves. Not much in the way of amenities but if you want a walk in solitude then that’s your place to go.

This brings back memories of family trips in the 50s and 60s in 3 car convoy up the A12 every other Sunday after early Mass to beautiful Frinton. Complete with homemade spud salad in glass jars, hard boiled eggs, sandy sarnies, blankets and windbreakers. Although we kids always begged for Walton as it had amusements. So nostalgic for those times😥

I’m loving this thread! It’s giving me lots of ideas of places to go… I just love walking along the shoreline of a beach. So relaxing

Heacham is pretty stunning. Lovely to see the sunset as we get the sunrise on the beach at the bottom of my road.

So many stunning beaches in the UK.
