Passport renewal
Anyone know the current renewal time for passports? DH has just suggested going to see our friends in Canada when their borders open (we are on leave w/c 20th sept) but my passport expires in October 🤦

You need 6 months on your passport for entry to Canada (which is different to the US requirement). You also need an ETA (very similar to an ESTA) but it is also tied to a passport number so you will need the new one before you apply Given you can't go to Canada on your current passport (not valid for long enough) you may as well just send off for a new one and see it it gets back in time and book last minute. |

We used the Post Office passport service. Paid £91 each and we got them back in a week.

My application has been stuck on we’ve received your old passport since 12th August. My son’s has moved to processing sent at the same time. Different passport offices.

Interesting. Two to three weeks is pretty good really.
Last weekend I completed the online renewal application for my DS, first adult passport, and for my DD renewal of child passport. I posted them on Monday recorded delivery and had the notification they were received on Wednesday.
