update Ladies only please, boils

My poor dd keeps getting them around her thighs and other bits, she was in tears last night and we might not be able to go to Dorset. She’s worried about starting uni because she is in pain walking, tomorrow we will speak to the doctor I hope. They have been on and off for two years, she’s had antibiotics in the past but they reoccur and she has to wear plasters constantly to stop clothes rubbing. She is a size 14 bottoms so a bit overweight, do you thinks this is the cause? Any help would be appreciated thanks xx

She should've been referred to a specialist after all that time Sandra, I would insist that she does to be honest
Definitely nothing to do with her weight xx

My sister had this. It was awful, mainly on her thighs and bottom. Inner part of her bottom so rubbed and was incredibly painful. She was showering that area 3 times a day at one point.
She finally went to the doctors (wouldn’t initially go as she was embarrassed) and she was told it was hormonal. Ladies can get the boils on their face or down below.
He prescribed a 3 month course of antibiotics, Oxytetracycline to be taken twice a day. She ended up taking these for 6 months and the problem has never returned.

Strangely two years later I had a problem with painful boils on my face every month and was also prescribed Oxytetracycline over a three month period. I was also told it was hormonal.
Woman have all the luck 😪

Definitely needs antibiotics poor girl. Nothing to do with her weight, if it was I'd be a walking boil! X

Definitely get the Dr to look into this further, Sandra, your DD has put up with it long enough. I doubt it's weight related, and size 14 isn't that big.

Hope your DD can get sorted before uni.

Sandra. Not butting in on a Ladies thread but has she been checked for Diabetes? It is a potential sign of that.

A quick blood test will rule that out

Best of luck

Sorry, I missed that she has had antibiotics. Were they a long course? My doctor (and sisters) said this ( Oxytetracycline )were a long, low dose, course of antibiotics thats used for acne and/or hormonal boils.
I questioned taking antibiotics for so long and he said that taken for less than 3 months is pointless.
