Wish I could be there to enjoy the low crowds, If Biden wasn’t so stubborn we would have been there right now.
I’d imagine the parks are missing the U.K. holiday makers who usually descend the last couple of weeks of august/early September. If I was American and vaccinated I would definitely be heading to the parks right now. They’ll be packed on 1st October I’m sure. Edited at 09:01 PM. |

Most Americans weren’t avoiding it until the kids started back at school. The parks were packed until recently (and cases were though the roof then too).
Yes I’m sure some have cancelled but I very much doubt it’s all down to people being worried about overflowing hospitals. Reading the replies there’s also some p’d of people with all the recent money grabbing changes Disney have made. This is always a quiet time, made worse this year due to the borders being closed to so many countries. Edited at 11:51 PM. |

The parks will be very busy again by the start of October and then straight through the end of the year, no matter how crowded the hospitals in the area might be.

Most cancellations I’ve seen have been because Of Covid reasons…either sick or not wanting to come to the USAs Covid hotspots.
A lot of US schools don’t go back until this coming Tuesday. Florida schools went back a few weeks ago but the crowds aren’t predominantly made up of Florida residents The I-4 round the attractions area was anything but quiet yesterday Edited at 11:48 PM. |

The international guests make up such a small amount of visitors that it's unlikely to make any massive difference to queue times. This time of the year is always quiet, most schools have gone back, then you have the celebrations starting in October which a lot of people would defer until then if they can, and on top you have the rising covid cases.

It's still here:
https://www.thedibb.co.uk//forums/wait_times.php 7DMT had an average queue length of 65 minutes yesterday. Which isn't uncommon for this time of year. Back on 5th Sept 2019, 7DMT had an average wait time of just 35 minutes. Admittedly, hurricane Dorian was in the area which caused several people to cancel or leave.
