I think escalating this to CEO level in a large company is an over-reaction tbh, and potentially relationship damaging since they are a customer. Referral schemes are very common in big business and often come with a generous bonus for referring someone. Do you know anyone who works there personally? They may not have thought giving your email address out was a big deal.

It’s the same as receiving an unsolicited phone call to your mobile ... not really a big deal

This happened to me a few months ago. I sent a polite reply saying I wasn't interested and that was the end of it.

Thanks for your opinion. I have asked for all my personal information be removed which they have advised they will do

Thanks for your opinion.

Their CEO has thanked me via my CEO as they were under an NDA with us and means they are in breach of their NDA. They thanked me for bringing it to there attention and the opportunity to correct it.

To add I don’t know anyone that works there.

I hope this will be at an ems soon.

The HR manager has sent me an email to apologise and has said that she will remove my details.

I’m just waiting on where my name was provided to them and the I can address with the individual.

I also think you are making a big deal by involving your CEO, in particular if you are on your probation period. You will look like you can’t problem solve and can’t move on from things which isn’t a quality employers favour.

No I havent but will do thank you.

Appreciate your opinion though I am not trying to make a big of this but like my privacy.

My CEO was pleased I told them as they were able to sort out with the customer and as mentioned could have been difficult with the signed NDA.

My CEO was pleased I had informed him and I’m happy with that.

I hardly think me advising them about this would detract from me not being able to solve problems but perhaps you know better than me and I now won’t make my probation?

Either way I’ve shown my honesty to my employer, I was headhunted bu them but in a professional and above board manner.

If they want to base my career on this then perhaps it’s best I don’t complete probation next week.

Thanks again
