Somewhere I have a little booklet if lovely quotes. Somewhere being the operative word of course.

Strangely I think some of the best are are from the Simpsons, Peanuts, and Winnie the Pooh.

When I was at work my colleague and I said daily Not my circus not my monkeys. Mind you we also said DILIGAF a lot too.

Handle every stressful situation like a dog...if you can't eat it or play with it then just pee on it and walk away.
Very apt today.

“What is a club in any case? Not the buildings or the directors or the people who are paid to represent it. It’s not the television contracts, get-out clauses, marketing departments or executive boxes.

“It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city. It’s a small boy clambering up the stadium steps for the very first time, gripping his father’s hand, gawping at that hallowed stretch of turf beneath him, and without being able to do a thing about it, falling in love.”

Sir Bobby Robson -

I have two.

“I spent half my money on gambling, alcohol, and wild women. The other half I wasted” WC Fields.

“Por favor manténgase alejado de las puertas” Monorail WDW.

I once came across this one whilst looking up another:

‘My ex mil used to make crude remarks about the male appendage, saying, ‘It’s big enough to wallop a dog out a tripe shop!’

“Be yourself, everyone else is taken.”

I tell my kids this, I think it was Oscar Wilde who said it.

I’m not sure who said it originally but Peggy Mitchell’s final toast in the queen vic was.
“Champagne for my real friends and real pain for my sham friends.”

I thought it was quite witty.
