We have had ultra cheap flights for our last few trips. Different airlines. Different routes but all well below £500.
The key is flexibility. Keeping your ears open. There is usually a glitch thread on here with reports on cheap offers. And the ability to pay in full is useful but not essential. Our cheapest flights have been Air France through CDG, British Airways through NYC (on a fly drive which was cheaper than flight only). And this year Delta out through NYC back through Atlanta. Last year there were BA flights available which we missed but then the Delta flights appeared a few weeks later. |

For BA flydrives do look at the customise your trip option and have a play with that.
Make sure you put in flight car and hotel, and click go. This boots you into the BA holidays system rather than BA. They sometimes have access to different flight codes. The hotel can be one night. It doesnthave to be between the flight dates. Sometimes we have got a deal for a couple of dates in the us, sometimes, do one night in RPR or Clearwater in the middle if doing it anyway, sometimes the night before we fly at an airport hotel, a couple of times we have done a completely non related night. So last year had a night in London several weeks after our holiday. That's the latest weve stretched the elastic. I find it comes up with luxury, cheapest and recommended. I go down the items in order and get it to what I want. With flights particularly the return flight options can drastically impact your price, so it can drop a lot on the return flight. After you have done your return flight choice go back to the fight out and check if you can get it down a bit further. Make sure you sign into your exec club first. Lastly. Don't be tempted to remove the hotel or car, coz it will just boot you back into the other BA system. (NB if I am a bit flexible on dates I use a different bit of IT kit and look at the chart and see which is the cheapest day to fly that route (just flight). So at least I start with the cheapest day. That's the only problem with the custo.ise your trip one, you have to be specific on dates. Hope this helps Edited at 10:28 AM. |
