Hello fresh - Any good

My son and his girlfriend are looking to order food from Hello fresh. The reviews look okay and there is 50% off the first order.

Any opinions welcome (good or bad)?

I've not used them myself, but I have a good friend who has used them for probably a good couple of years now. They are a busy working family, and love the variety and easiness of it all. She regularly sings their praises!

Hello Fresh is ok, personally I think Gousto is better though, both food wise and service wise. The meals do get a bit samey after a while so we tend to dip in and out of using them, really useful when getting in from work in the evening as there's no thought needed to rustle up a really nice meal.

Definitely use it while you have a 50% voucher.

Gousto don't do a pack for 3 people (Hello Fresh do) so I buy 3 or 4 meals for 4, plate up 4 meals and they last even longer.

Ive not personally used it myself but someone I watch on you tube has recently started using it, their overall opinion of it is good but quite often they have had ingredients missing from the recipes.

I’ve used hello fresh for about 18 months with a little break when I was poorly. I had a voucher for 3 weeks of half price Gousto, which was nice but, I decided I was a HelloFresh snob 😅. I love them personally and have never had any ingredients missing.

For me I enjoy cooking and trying new things but this stops me having to search high and low for random ingredients or food waste. During lockdown it’s been a big saving grace too as means we can do a coop shop once a week rather than do a big supermarket shop.

We ordered a box as we got £20 off the first order, which made it £12.99 for 3 meals for 2 people (I think we pay a shipping premium). Its not ideal for us as hubby eats meat and I don't, and I didn't love the veggie options for the week we ordered. That said, I ordered meat meals and hubby is really enjoying the meals. I'm not sure I'd get it at the regular price though.

We used them for quite a while, over the recent weeks the quality has been a bit hit and miss in terms of freshness of ingredients and such. Which is why we stopped. It's helpful in terms of only having the right amount of ingredients for each meal etc though, which made it very convenient for us.

I know there are a few Facebook pages dedicated to Hello Fresh it may be worth them joining one and having a look at recent posts to see the quality of ingredients etc as people regularly post box contents etc on there, both good and bad.

We used to get Hello Fresh a few years ago but have now swopped to Gousto and bern getting them for a good few years. They have more choice and easy to follow recipes. They are also cheaper (for a family of four) at £47 for 4 meals for 4 people. Never had any problems with substitutes or bad quality ingredients.

We’ve been getting a box every fortnight since the lockdown which has been really helpful.

I tried hello fresh when I got 2 boxes half price - we recieved bad chicken twice! Both boxes, it was all well packed and still cold when I put it away (it wasn’t left on the door step or anything was put away as soon as it arrived) - having to run to the shop for fresh chicken both times and their poor response the second time it happened left a little sour taste I. My mouth really!

I’ve used it and would recommend whilst you have a voucher.

However as others have said Gousto is better!
