Weighted hula hoop

I give up - bought one of these having seen someone post here that they were really good for toning up the waist. It arrived today, I put it together and am now sitting with ice packs on both my hands (I kept trying to catch it as it fell) a sore knee and a bruised ankle. I am now consoling myself with a kir royale and pizza for tea...

and I still cannot get beyond about 4 rotations in a row!

Please feel free to laugh at me whilst I get slightly tipsy

Poor you. My daughter was thinking of getting one of these but your post may have put her off🤔. Perhaps you'll improve on your rotations if you do get tipsy🥴🥴🥴😂😂😂.

It was me who posted ! They are great they are painful at first but you get used to them very quick ! Try to relax and breath through it (like labour)

I am convinced hula hoops are helping my waist - I’m a standard thick waisted shape (not fat but no way hourglass) and i know the hula hooping has me helped flatten .

I do 3 10 min sessions a week after running .

Persist it’s great for your abdominal organs too ! It gets easier I promise !

I've just bought a pilates ring, I haven't done any exercise with it yet but I have bought it. Once I've actually used it I may look at one of these.

My weighted one gave me bruises. I’m good at it but it has ridges on the inside and it was just too much. It now lives in the garage.

I think that I made the mistake of assuming that the only reason I couldn't hula hoop with my sons one is that it was too small - it turns out I am just not very good. And actually now that I think about it I wasn't very good at it as a kid.

Practice it is... on the plus side my DH is about as good as I am with it! I laughed when I saw the package with the instructions on the side as I assumed that no one needed instructions on how to hula

I just got the plain one without the nodules inside as I thought that could get rather painful after a while. However it does come apart for storage, which is probably a good thing.
