And I quote:

The base costs of your flights were £0, they were free as part of the package you purchased from Thomas Cook.
The flight costs which are listed below are your premium upgrade costs. We are more than happy to refund you the full cost of the premium from your return flight.

I guess I don’t have anywhere to go now
But if they were part of a package they were not free and you should be claiming as pat of the package not fulfilled?

Just an update after asking Papamouse advise I used the Resolver website re our trip last Easter when our flight was downgraded by Thomas cook about 5 weeks prior to departure.
At the time we where refunded the extra cost of the premium upgrade plus £50 p/p compensation and got to keep alll the perks upgraded movies ,priority boarding and even extra legroom.
Having e mailed last week they rung me this evening and have agreed another £320 compensation so a grand total of £1156 for a one way downgrade - as it was a package it is hard to know if this amounts to 75% of the outbound flight but I am very happy with it and the fact that within a week Thomas cook had contacted me with a cash offer despite us having traveled 15 months ago.
I urge anyone else out there that has had this issue to get on to resolver website and ask the question
Thank again to papermouse for all the help.

This is my post from June 2017 when we where on a TC package - stick to your guns as you are entitled.

So this is still going on. They didn’t respond at all to the case in Resolver and it’s now with CEDR.

Ok, so this was in the process of being decided by CEDR but Thomas Cook had already admitted that they had offered a refund and £50 compensation per passenger. I’m assuming it’s all over now and I can’t claim anything or Would it be covered under ATOL?
