Some instructions here.

m.wikihow/Add-a-Digital-...-Word-Document

Or the old fashioned way, print, sign, scan, email back.

yeah, i tend to just print, sign and scan rather than doing it within the document (unless i'm at work and using cosign which is a secure digital signature tool)

Your printer is likely to have a scanner? Do you know if it does?

You can just edit the document and add your name to it, you can use a fancy signature style font if you want but don't have to.

If they require a "wet" signature then they will tell you to print and sign, otherwise just adding your name is enough

Another option is to do a "save as" in Word as PDF file.
Then using Adobe Reader you can add a text box or electronic signature to it.
Then simply email the electronically signed PDF back to the recipient.

I actually do this quite a bit now and not had any problems

CamScanner is a good app for using your phone as a scanner.

Thanks so much everyone. I managed to scan to my phone via app and then email.

I feel very proud of myself 🤣
