so remove the external video card, and hopefully it will default to the onboard one and spring into life!

NO WAY - I FEEL SUCH AN IDIOT! Lmao if this works I’m gonna feel so stupid. But don’t you need intergrated graphics on the cpu?

"integrated graphics" just means built into the motherboard

you have a motherboard with integrated graphics, and then you are plugging in an external graphics card. you dont need both. make sure the onboard one works, and then if you really want to use the pci-e card (eg it has better games performance) then you probably need to disable the onboard graphics in the bios to get it to work.

Does my computer have to be booted? For example do I need to use my bootable windows usb upon first startup?

you should be able to just have the motherboard, cpu, ram and associated fans all going into the PSU and get a booting system. no cd/usb needed to get some sort of life from it. you probably need to hit F1/F8/DEL/something to trigger the BIOS menu where you configure stuff. itll all be detailed in the manual (or onscreen if your hdmi negotiates with the tv fast enough to display it)

Well I learned the hard way when I built my first gaming PC as I shortened the motherboard due to not grounding myself correctly. I was baffled to as why the fans etc still powered but no display, until I had to RMA it.

So I'm just giving you advice from previous experience... however if you remove the GPU and connect the HDMI directly into your onboard graphics and you still hear/see nothing then to me this is looking more and more like the mobo is dead.

Also, you still haven't answered my question about the fans, are they running at full speed/too loud? If so, dead mobo.

If you're using a dedicated GPU you don't need to touch any settings for the integrated graphics as the BIOS will automatically detect this.

The fans don’t seem to be to loud. They seem pretty quiet.
