Getting to WDW from US27

Hi All,

Haven't been to florida in a few years and going next year have been looking at villas on the 27 (always stayed near 192) and just wondered if its possible to get to WDW without a car from the 27?

Thanks

Uber or Lyft would be your main options. Never seen a bus on the US27 but that doesn't mean there isn't one, certainly there isn't one direct to WDW. You would also need a car to get food etc as well as get to the parks.

We've stayed in villas in the Highgate Park area around 20+ times but would never dream of not hiring a car. As Bighal says I've never seen a public bus (Lynx) anywhere on that stretch of 27 so I guess that Uber or Lyft is your only option. Never sat in one in my life I'm afraid so can't help on cost etc.

The lynx 427 runs from 6/25 am to 6/25 pm Monday to Friday from Haines City to Legacy Boulevard on the 192 but the bus stops are few and far between
Hopefully that will change when the proposed transport hub at Posner Commons is up and running

we are just on the 27 where it meets the 192
There is this bus service for the 192

We always stay on the US27 and always hire a car but this year we had a few nights out so used Lyft mainly (we had a $2 discount for each of the first 10 rides with Lyft). We were really surprised how good it was and how cheap. So much so that we are really considering if we need the car next year.

TBH a return Lyft/Uber would probably be cheaper than the parking at the parks for the day. This obviously is affected by how many in the group and the further down the US27 then the more costly.

What we loved about it is the Lyft was literally door to door. It was nice and cool in there as soon as you get in vs a boiling hot car at the end of the day in a park if you get what i mean. When you book it, you can see where it is and how long to get to you and most of the time it was well under 3 minutes. No hassle of speeding, getting lost, tolls etc etc

Advantages of a car is you can go farther afield ie beach, state parks, shopping malls. For us, sometimes we would nip out for a chinese or pizza etc but then for a few dollars you can use Lyft/Uber.

As for shopping though, on the US27 is a Publix and Walmart which would only be a few dollars in a Lyft/Uber. Plus a few restaurants there and some very close on the 192.

Personally we wouldn't do the bus. Few times we went past seeing people out at the bus stops waiting in the open in the baking hot sun.
