Mobile Economy Light

Hi all,

I've found some Virgin flights on Expedia and they don't come with hold baggage.

I've had a look and the 1st bag appears to be 50 pound each but I was just wondering if this payable once or whether I'd pay 50 for the outbound and then 50 for the inbound?

Cheers,

Rick

I expect it’s each way, as it’s possible to buy one way tickets.

Someone with more knowledge I’m sure will be along to confirm.

I suspect the same and these 'light' fares are just a trick to lure you in, which I guess has worked with me because I've at least been looking/thinking about it.

Hi

It is definitely each way. We flew virgin light earlier this year. It was £50 per bag outbound then $90 per bag inbound. Worked out quite costly with 4 cases but still cheaper than booking economy classic.

One thing to bear in mind which we weren’t aware of is that you have no flexibility to upgrade or book legroom seats if you wanted to, even when at the airport and there were seats available.

Thanks you, I wouldn't have known that.

I wish I had the option of filtering out these 'light' results from skyscanner etc as it just seems to complicate things. I can't see many going on a long haul flight and not needing hold luggage.

Unfortunately it's the way that all airlines are going now

You'd be surprised at how many are buying them, not everyone needs 23kg of luggage per person and if it saves money they'll cut down their needs.
