Finally something to look forward to

My DD and me have had a rubbish couple of years. My DP/her DDad was diagnosed with blood cancer last year and died in May. She's been so brave, celebrating her 11th birthday and moving up to secondary school without Dad there.

We hadn't been able to have any sort of holiday last summer due to chemo/tests/blood transfusions and this summer because we are still utterly shell shocked. However, today I put my big girl pants on and I have booked not only WDW (3rd trip) but also our first cruise. In fact, the holiday we were supposed to have this year but stupid cancer had other ideas.

I had to post on here as I know you will understand how excited I am to tell her and also it is a ridiculous time in the morning to consider telling anyone in real life!

I have been where you are, our children were 5 and 1 at the time so were more able to cope as long as they had mum. It must have been so hard for you both and well done you for being pro active and organising something so lovely. You'll have the most wonderful time together.
