We're thinking of a city break to Berlin in the Spring. Could anyone give advice on best area to stay in, transfer and transport tips, must see things? Thanks!

Hi, LOVE Berlin!

We did taxi transfer via suntransfers, all on time.

We stayed at TITANIC Chaussee Berlin, about a 10-15 walk into the centre, away from the tourist traps but had lots of local reasonably priced restaurants on our doorstep and felt really safe. Also a tram stop outside. Very nice hotel, would 100% recommend!

Would really recommend the DDR museum, fascinating insight to life in east Germany.

We loved Berlin and had a great time there. There is a link to my trip report in my signature - we stayed a bit further out from the centre but it was a great location with plenty of places to eat nearby.

Hey, you will have a great time! Berlin is one of
My favourite places I have visited.

We stayed at Wyndham Garden Berlin Mitte which is a great location. It has a tram stop right outside and a bus stop outside which has a direct bus to the airport which was super handy. The team stops go into town and other parts of Berlin.

If you are interested in history then a must visit is sachsenhausen memorial and museum, an old concentration camp. So humbling and an important part of history.

Other must sees - check point Charlie, memorial to the murdered Jews, Berlin Wall memorial etc. Lots of museums and things to do!

It’s a few years ago but we did the Sandemanns free walking tour which was excellent.

A trip out to the Olympic Stadium and a swim in the outdoor pool (if warm enough) is a good out of town option.
