Just replied to you on the other post. Yes booked directly back in April 2019 🙈 I might try the guest relations number and see if they can amend. Still a lot of money to part with when everything is still so up in the air

I found Guest Relations much better at knowing more about what they can offer and help with, I agree it is a lot of money, I spent several phone calls and hours making sure I had plenty of notes on the file with names

I personally feel that as we are gradually coming out of lock down and "safe" countries are being announced the cancellation period will get shorter as they will want to get carrying passengers again.

Honestly think we are waiting for a spike. The pubs etc opening up could mean it happens, obviously hope it doesn't but still have a bit of an issue with possibly things moving a bit too quick.
Better to be safe than sorry!

I’m meant to be flying in October with BA to Orlando, have now had an email offering a voucher - I think they know October will end up being cancelled so they’re trying to keep customers. I don’t blame them. I’m having a careful think and a good research.
I still want to have this holiday, but not this year. I don’t want the (I now think very high) chance of another lockdown time starting while away, I don’t want to do Disney in a face mask with none of the added extras that make it special and it’s an expensive holiday, I want the full package! I was hopeful and thinking The lower crowds might make it worth it and was thinking of the extra restaurants and such to visit with the shortened hours but now tbh I would rather do it properly. The BA voucher thing though - I’ve only paid £300 deposit so far (balance due first week of September) - so I’m not sure if I need to pay the full whack (£2000) to get a £2000 voucher or if I can just get a £300 voucher based on what I’ve paid so far. With the lower voucher, I can obviously use it towards the trip but it gives me more options to shop around for the best deal. |

Assuming you are referring to to the post above yours, for a direct booking with BA it would have to be a BA Holidays package, BA does not offer deposit options on flight-only bookings.
BA Holidays appears to be making earlier offers, perhaps prompted by Tui cancelling holidays (and citing a reduced experience, whether or not that is the true reason). Based on previous months, I would guess BA will start on any September cancellations within the next 1-2 weeks. Edited at 04:51 PM. |

Thanks Peko good to know, only our Fly Drive deposit to lose but a voucher would be a winner- just need them to extend the use by date so that we could use it for "planned" 2022 holiday as we've already booked & paid for next May
