A word of warning on HomeAway "protection"..

While they offer some level of protection (if there's a problem with the villa) where they'll sort that all out for you, they've proved that they offer zero protection when unexpected circumstances (i.e. Coronavirus) occur - I had a booking and their attitude was "you need to deal with the villa owner as we're just a booking engine" - there was no protection for this and as a result, because the owner refused to provide a full refund, I've been left out of pocket and having to pursue through insurance.

While I'm sure this is all well within their terms, you do need to take their "Protection" with a pinch of salt.

So just a cautionary tale about HomeAway who, despite having used them for a number of years, I won't be using again.

Booked a dibb villa on Hampton lakes again for next year ,have stayed before ,villa is beautiful and the lady who owns it is so helpful

We have booked a 5 bed villa and direct flights and minibus rental for two weeks October 2021 through Ocean Florida.

I usually do DIY but their prices were very similar to my budget for DIY after I had haggled a little.

Yet to see how the holiday pans out but they have been very attentive so far.

They bought VRBO a good while ago when they bought up most of their competition..
I guess VRBO will still be running as before...
