Coop travel shops

Anyone know the answer please. I am pretty certain I read somewhere - albeit a while ago - that Thomas Cook purchased Coop Travel.

If correct where does that leave them.

There does seem to be a few different businesses attached to TC that could be in trouble!

Didn’t think the Coop logo was visible on the high street these days. I know ours here in the North East changed over to TC a few years ago. Staff remained but in TC uniforms

There are still some Co-operative regions which operate travel companies separately from Thomas Cook - our local store is point in case.

There was a merger, the companies look to be owned by both TC and some Co-Ops still, as were some of the ATOL vehicles and I understand the latter went into liquidation.

Not too sure about the rest of the country because Lincolnshire's Co-Op is separate from the rest. We still have our Co-Op Travel Shops: lincolnshire.coop/travel

Although they all bear the same name most coop groups are independent of each other. So the big one that merger with TC I think closed down all its branded Coop shops. Any left are from other Coop groups an nothing to do with TC

co-op travel did indeed merge with Thomas cook , all these stores re branded to Thomas Cook and sadly have ceased to trade. However some independent co-op societies had there own travel shops like Midcounties & Lincolnshire, these continue to trade as normal.

Our first trip to Orlando was actually a Thomas cook package from the coop.
