Were flying into Miami on Christmas Day and driving to Jupiter to stay the first night. We might have been tempted to drive up to the villa but we have have guests in till Boxing Day anyway. I expect we’ll find a McDonald’s or somewhere to eat!

We have flown in to Miami a few times and have always stayed very near the airport. First time in a holiday inn a few mile away, but the last two times we have stayed in the Sheraton at the airport and taken the free shuttle to the hotel. In the morning you can walk across the road to the car hire centre to collect your car (busy road though, so be very careful). Saves a days car hire and as you are up very early, you can be on the road and in Orlando easily before lunchtime. If anyone books the Sheraton, I’d recommend a club room. Free evening snacks, cheese, crackers, Samoa’s, fruit etc and free soft drinks and teas and coffees. Light buffet breakfast in the club room in the morning too. We always have a snack when we arrive and take a drink back to the room whilst we unwind before bed.

Sorry I think we might have been in florida when you replied!

We have stayed at the Wyndham Deerfield Beach twice, 2 nights this year on the way home, and 1 night last year on the day we landed. Is about 45 mins max from Miami airport, and a lovely hotel, right opposite the beach with amazing views and lots of places to eat/drink. Next year we are flying home from Miami and staying in the Tides Inn, Lauderdale by the sea for 2 nights.

We flew into Miami last Aug, our plane was due to land at 3pm, we had spent a lot of time deciding where to spend our first night
, we decided on staying near Miami airport and so glad we did as due to plane delays then being stuck on the plane upon landing and then delays at immigration we eventually left Miami airport at 8.45 pm completely shattered dehydrated and hungry.
There is no way we could have safely done the 4 hour drive safely and it was such a relief to get to our hotel get some food and get to bed.
The next morning we were awake by 4 am so could easily drive to orlando with no traffic and in no way miss a day of the holiday!
