'Mother knows best' July 2017 - Pre travel day
Pre travel day!
The pre trip is here https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/sho... php?t=1028406 Today was kind of a strange one, we were both at work. I was on a half day and Sam was finishing at 4. This day also coincides with my Mum finishing her last week at work after 20 years in the same school! Charlie goes to the same school and there was a surprise party for her after the 3.30 bell. I therefore rushed home ran round like a madwoman doing the last burglar housework and packing our last bits for our overnight stay in Manchester. Bang on 3.30 I whisked Charlie out to get his teacher gifts to give them out as he is missing the last day tomorrow. Myself and my brother then surprised Mum with flowers and gifts at her party, Sam came straight from work and then we left to get showered and in the car. My brother is kindly House, dog and cat sitting for us while we are away so he helped load up while I got Charlie some tea. All that was left to do then was to cross the last day off the countdown, say bye to our dog Matilda and hit the road! Charlie crossing off the last day!   We hit the road and had a reasonable journey. We stopped off at McDonald's for Sam and I. He had a signature whatsit and I had a vegetable deluxe meal. This cost approx £12.   We are now checked in to the Mercure ready for a short nights sleep before heading to Manchester airport for 7am. See you on the other side!
