It was perfect! We were up for around an hour and could see for so far - Disney in the distance and so many neighbourhoods. It was great seeing other balloons flying at the same time too. We had really great weather for it and luckily there are no pesky love bugs 1000ft up as they’ve been a nightmare on the ground so far

Thank you! If you’ve got a standard room, casitas 4 is a brilliant location and we’ve even bagged a room over looking the pool!

Thanks again everyone for all of the lovely comments.
The plan for lunch was Geyser Point but there seemed to be a lot of confusion at the ferry dock at Magic Kingdom with them sending us down the Poly/GF queue for Wilderness Lodge, then pulling us out of that queue and into another one, and then mentioning after all that it would be another 15 minutes until a ferry actually arrived! So we ditched that plan and headed to Casey’s Corner really classy post-engagement food! We mobile ordered which was super easy and quick. We shared a footlong bacon mac n cheese hotdog with fries and a frozen mint julep lemonade for 1 QS credit (should have been $19.98 plus tax if paying oop). We then did all three mountains before stopping off at Sunshine Tree Terrace for a Redd’s Revenge for 1 snack credit (would have been $6.99 plus tax if paying oop). All I can say is wow. This was so tasty, we both absolutely loved it and W hasn’t stopped talking about it since - it was that good! We then did seven dwarfs and are now back at Coronado relaxing before flying fish tonight. |

Flying Fish
We arrived at FF five minutes prior to our reservation time and checked in. We waited in the lobby before being called through at our reservation time. First impressions of the decor were really good - we loved the FF inspired glass lights. We were sat right at the back between two other couples, one of whom had strewn their purchases all over the table and booth seat we were given. These were moved as we began to sit down. We were given menus and were told our server would be over shortly. As we perused the menu we realised it only included the wine choices, no cocktails. We therefore decided to wait until the server introduced themselves and (we presumed) brought us an alternative drinks menu before reviewing the menu in detail. But we waited. And we waited. 20 minutes passed and the server had not even said hello, despite tending to both tables beside us in different capacities (although we did notice the one table had starters but no drinks?!). By this point W was not happy, as he had contacted FF a few weeks ago to tell them about his plans. He decided to go back to the front desk and explain how we had been ignored. They initially advised they would remedy the situation by having a word with our server, which W wasn’t happy with as the table was not great anyway, we were far too close to others, and besides, we had no confidence in the server to give us a good experience. Whilst this was going on the server did in fact come over to me and asked if I would like water. I mentioned that W had gone to seek clarity on why we had been ignored and his response was to pour some water and then walk away with no explanation or apology, so I’m very glad W asked to move. From the moment we were presented with our new table, everything changed. It was in a much nicer spot in the window, and the chef and manager both came over to greet us. Our server, Chris, was charismatic and was great at recommending things for us to try and how best to have certain dishes cooked. The manager brought us over some complimentary champagne to start the service. This was then followed by a small tasting plate which was a concoction including parma ham and honey. This was one mouthful each, but lovely nonetheless (and totally unexpected). We also ordered cocktails; a gin and tonic for W and a pomegranate martini for me. I stupidly read this as passion fruit and was expecting a pornstar martini! Oops. Never mind, it was still fine but had a much stronger alcohol taste than I would usually like. We then had the seaweed bread. This came out nice and warm; I loved the butter that came with it which was super soft and easy to spread. For our entrees we both had the wagyu filet mignon which was divine. It was so smooth to cut through and melted in your mouth - definitely the best piece of steak we’ve ever had. The risotto and asparagus that came with it were also wonderful. Finally, for dessert I ordered the Cocoa Breach and W the Blueberries, Limes, and Sea Shells cheesecake. However, they didn’t come out like normal desserts! They were on a sharing plate with a lovely ‘happily ever after!’ message, and the manager also brought us some mr and mrs pins, some ‘just engaged’ badges, and an engagement Mickey and Minnie plush. We thought it was really sweet of her, but not sure whether it was more as a result of the earlier issues rather than something they would do for any newly engaged couples! The Cocoa Breach was to die for. W wished he had also ordered it as it was so delicious. Luckily for him we were sharing a plate so I let him have some! His cheesecake was also nice and light but a little too zesty for his taste. I thought it was quite good when I tried it but to be honest my mind was fixated on getting back to the Cocoa Breach! Overall, we thought the FF was excellent. We were impressed by how they eventually handled the initial hiccup and Chris was a great server. The food was all delightful. 4 TS credits used (would have been $177.06 if paying oop). Edited at 10:27 AM. |

Oh no! What an awful experience at first, and there’s me saying that the server was brilliant, glad the eventual outcome was good though and you got the special treatment deserved!
Isn’t the wagyu to die for! I also had the cocoa breach, yup divine! I love the plushies and the pins, such a special touch.

It can be such an individual experience due to servers sometimes! I’m glad we had Chris in the end as he was great.
The wagyu was so good... we were both so pleased to have selected it from the menu (although we already had our eye on it before of course). I couldn’t believe how good the Cocoa Breach was.
