Alamo hold advice

Hi

We have been here 2 weeks now

We had to upgrade the car when we got here which cost $370

The money was sat in my pending but has now gone back into my account

This happened to anyone else?

It's possible that they will collect it properly when you return the car, what did the paperwork say in regard to 'estimated charges'? If they don't then you got a free upgrade

You may get more responses if you post in the Car Hire and transportation forum. A few who go there have a lot of experience with Alamo.

We had the paperwork stating $370 and it was taken but it has gone back into our account!

When you collect the vehicle, a hold is placed against the card which is usually $1. If you opt for any extras, the hold is equal to the value of those extras.

When you return the vehicle, the charge is then placed against the card.

The hold drops off.
