You do need to put a mobile in, but what I did was put my current number in when I first installed the app, then when I put the 3 sim in after landing, I went into the app settings and changed the number (you can get the number beforehand in the UK if you want, just put the sim in and ring another mobile).

You just get a text from Uber with a code to confirm you have changed it correctly, which you can then enter in the app, and you are good to go. It is useful to have this in there because if a driver can't find you they can ring you

Your debit/ credit card details are linked to the app so you don't need your actual card with you

I have downloaded the app here in the UK and they have offered me some money off. We wont use it until we are in Florida. How do I get the free trips in the U S? Will it automatically update or will I need to download it again there? x
