Avios for Seaworld / Universal tickets

We only want to do 1 day at Sea World, and noticed that Avios do 1 day tickets for 8k Avios. However, it is strictly for US/Canadian citizens. Has anyone (UK resident) tried to use this? Did it work? Do they really check your citizenship (and what difference would it make anyway?)?

Reward schemes, whether it be airlines, hotels, credit cards etc often have deals or offers aimed at residents of certain countries only.
No doubt there are business reasons for making them available in certain countries only.

I've seen articles on HeadforPoints re offers/benefits etc available only to those in the UK or US or EU or Australia etc.

On the whole, the sticking point is often that your BAEC or Avios account address needs to be in the country to which the offer applies.

So, the problem may not be SW checking your citizenship, it may be Avios not processing the transaction without a valid address.

I also believe that if you manage to change your BAEC/Avios account address to another country to take advantage of offers, there is then a 6 month rule on being allowed to change your address back to the UK.
This could have other implications if you hold a Household account as all accounts within the household must hold the same address; you would either have to change the address on all your family's accounts or split the Household account & forego some of the benefits of that, e.g. being able to pool all your Avios for spending.

Hiya,

Travelzoo have decent prices for seaworld tickets on their latest newsletter , its on the us version, so just do a google search and choose USA version and attractions in Orlando and you should be able to see it.
