Annual Pass questions

So we may have the opportunity to go to Orlando in Feb and Oct next year. We are considering getting annual passes. I have a few questions about them and wondering if you guys can help.

Disney
With the Disney Platinum pass, it says it comes with Photopass - is this the same as the Memory Maker that we brits get with the Ultimate tickets? Does this entitle us to get all our photo's and ride photos for free or would we be needing to purchase photos at the end of the holiday?

Is it worth us both getting this pass or would we both benefit from just one of us having one?

Universal
We have been looking at both the Seasonal and the Preferred pass. I like the idea of the discounts given with the Preferred pass and the fact that there are very few blackout dates. However, the only dates that would be effected when we visit with the Seasonal pass are February due to Mardi Gras. Would we not be able to visit Universal the whole time during Mardi Gras or is it just in the evenings when there are concerts etc on? I would like to experience some of the Mardi gras events so im not really sure which to go for here.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I can't help with Universal but yes the annual passes at Disney do include memory maker just like ultimates. The only difference is that the photos remain available online for 13 months.

Seasonal Passes are blocked out for Universal Studios on the days there is a concert not the whole Mardi Gras period (Feb-April). I think the concerts are only held on Saturday/Sunday. They haven't announced the line up yet so it depends if there is anyone you are interested in seeing.

If you do go for Seasonal you can always upgrade once you are there .
