Cici's alternative but the same price?

Hi,

Im after recommendations for a family of 5 to eat out on a budget at a similar price to Cicis.

Please don't be snobby - we are aware that Cicis is at the lower end of the al carte table and of course we won't be eating budget throughout our Orlando stay. Its just very handy to keep 3 kids happy at a great price point while the adults have a bit of variation.

So what Im after is anything thats not more Pizza and an idea of how much you paid (and how many hungry mouths were in your party).

Im sure we paid $36 for 5 of us last year at Cicis.

Thanks,

Andy (and the Hungry Kids).

Im really not sure tbh? Sweet tomatoes might come in at a similar price if you get a voucher? That's quite good!
We tried Golden Corall and whilst it was ok, I felt we payed too much personally! It was about $12 each which I realise isn't loads but we all felt we could have had far nicer elsewhere for less. I guess they have to assume people will have an awful lot and price accordingly!

No judging here lol we actually likes cicis pizza it is what it is yep not a la carte but fills your tummy when you are tired after a day in the parks.
Denny's has a good value menu if you look online you should be able to see last year they did a $2 $4 $6 menu with lots of choice. Steak and shake is cheap and again fine for the money.
Subway has a lot more choice on its menu than it does here.
If you call on the gift shops on international drive you can pick up money off vouchers for loads of places. Look at restaurants online too you can get money off vouchers and they often give free appetisers and bread to start.
Plus there's always McDonald's ... the massive one on international drive sells a lot more than burgers the pasta in there's lovely

are you staying in a villa? We found getting a take away Chinese to be a good cheap alternative and fed up for 2 nights.

Steak and shake is cheap. Kids eat free at weekends, half price milkshake 2-5pm.
Olive Garden weekdays 3-5pm $9 for a main inc salad/breadsticks
Any diners will be cheap - Denny's and IHOP have kids eat free nights check the websites. For after 4pm - may be a Tuesday? Village inn takes kids eat free card. Perkins has bogof adult meals on a Wednesday . Friendly's has 25% off for joining email club- cheap meals and good choices for kids
Teak Neighborhood Grill is reasonably priced and again takes kids eat free card

Cici's firm favorite of ours - Golden Coral is good, Sweet Toms also - hunt down the vouchers in free papers for good deals. Eating at each of these allows from some more extravagant meals in our budget!

Sorry, don't have prices, but should be easy to find on their websites and voucher websites. We are a 4 / 5 party and they offer something for everyone - especially our vegi who often gets limited choices.

You wont find many as cheap as Cicis but plenty better for nominally more: Denny's, Ponderosa, Friendly's, Golden Corral, Village Inn, even Millers Ale House can be real cheap, especially if you order their lunch specials - usually about $5.99. And some of their regular plates are easily big enough for two kids to split.

When we booked our universal tickets last year it came with a book of vouchers for various places on iDrive. Maybe worth looking into that as a lot of them were kids eat free etc.

I think too many people have an downer on Cici's when we went there last year we thought it was perfectly fine a little rustic yes but the food is nice and they will prepare stuff for you if you request.
Another one is Golden Coral which again suffers from snobbery but we found it perfectly fine and good value.
As someone else said the McDonalds on Idrive does far more than just burgers and have to agree the pasta is lovely (better than most we had at other more expensive places) they also do pizza and sandwiches.
Sweet Tomatoes is good value and nice food, also Dennys and Perkins.

Don't worry about the snobs the food is fine and you have to meet your budget :-)

To be fair, if we are all tired and we have been at a park all day, the last thing we want to do is spend $200+ on a meal out. We would rather use the likes of CiCi's or McDonalds etc and then appreciate our more expensive meals when we are in the mood.
