We tried Wendy's for the first time this year. They were advertising 4 for $4 - it was excellent. The 4 were a double bacon cheeseburger, fries, nuggets and a huge drink, much better value than McDonald's.

I'd say Sweet Tomatoes - love the food, very handy for kids as its buffet. First a huge salad bar (ok kids not too big fans of this part but they will have some sweetcorn or something from it), then there are a range of soups, pasta, Foccacia of pizza type, muffins, baked potatoes and to top it up self serve frozen yoghurt with toppings and sauces.

When we vacationed as a family of 5, one of our go to meals was a roast chicken from a supermarket, salad and bread. We could easily all eat for under $15.00. And it can be healthier than many restaurant meals. Many grocery stores have hot bars.

We really like Cici's. Other options are Chili's, Golden Corral and Steak n Shake.
Hope you have a great trip. |

We stumbled across CiCis by chance in 2015. Liked the value for money and is was very clean. However, don't expect the same value elsewhere. I read somebody mention ponderosa... that place is enough to send shivers down my spine it is so vile!

Don't overlook Waffle House or Checkers, their food is reasonable and very tasty. Checkers Double Fish sandwich was much better than the burger places.

I'm off for the first time and looking at cicis... so is it like $12 all you can eat? I know they do pizza and salad, but do they do wings other bits in the buffet?

We quite like Popeyes for fried chicken and shrimp when we fancy something cheap and cheerful.
Culverts sounds quite good for fish and chips but we haven't tried it yet.
