Flight help please

Hi all,
I've found a flight I'm happy with and was going to book direct with virgin but then did a little search on sky scanner and there are the same flights available for approx £70 cheaper with the airline but via different booking channels such as BYOjet.com net flights.com and travel bag has anyone had any experience of using these companies and are they likely to add on any supplements?
I'm just unsure as to why it's cheaper to book through an agent instead of direct
Thanks in advance
Helen

Same reason you can buy an iPad for less from Argos than direct from Apple. Often a retailer will take a smaller profit to get more sales.
Some agents are better than others. Of those you've mentioned I'd be comfortable using travelbag and netflights.

I had been agonizing over the same thing too until yesterday when I finally booked Virgin through Netflights. I have never done a DIY holiday before so this is all new to me and reading these boards for God knows how long has been such a great help.
Now I don't know if any problems may arise in the future but I can tell you that the booking process with Netflights couldn't have been easier. Immediately after booking I had an email conformation with my booking reference and within an hour had my e-tickets from Virgin. I was then able to go onto the Virgin website and prebook our seats in the "Bubble"!
Then went to Delta website and booked our return seats, for free I might add, back to Heathrow.
Using Netflights has saved my family of 5 £200. I was nervous about going through a 3rd party but I feel a bit more at ease now I actually have my tickets and seats are reserved
