They didn't say that they are connecting flights booked as one indirect flight either. So it could've gone either way.
Have you confirmed with Charter Travel that they are not separate flights? Just because you've booked them all with one travel agent doesn't mean they aren't separate flights. I mean, I'd assume Charter would book it as one indirect flight but we all know what 'assume' makes out of you and me. If it's one connecting flight then 2.5 hours at Manchester should be more than enough time.

If you don't fly to Man the day afore, and being on a thro ticket, you'll be fine Lauren - first FlyMayBe flight out of Newcastle was always on time, I remember new years eve, 2009, FB boarded us early to de-ice, got us on up and away to LGW minutes afore Ncl closed due to snow/ice, phew, close one. We go the day afore due to train timings, overnight at Heald Green Premier Inn, our Nov room was £29.50, thank you PI If you do travel on the same day, as LLamb posted, there's airport transfer from one terminal to t'other - you'll likely even have lots of time to get the credit card out and shop, something I cannot be chowed on with. The least airport time for us the better.
Have a smashing holiday

Personally, with these now being separate flights and not on the same PNR ( through ticket) I woukd fly down the evening before and stay at premier inn/travelodge.
If your flight us delayed, or even cancelled, Lufthansa do not have to find you an alternative flight, as far as they are concerned you missed the first leg.

I would check myself with my PNR on Flybe or VA site to make sure it’s an indirect single ticket. I wouldn’t take a TAs word on it they may have booked separate flights.

We are in the same position regarding cancelled Lufthansa flights from Aberdeen, but for October. We also booked through Charter Travel.
We have chosen the same flights as you - Flybe to Manchester then onto MCO with Virgin. They are a codeshare, and the luggage will be checked in all the way through from Aberdeen. If the flight is on time from Aberdeen, and given it is the first flight, it should be, then 2.5 hours to get from one terminal to another is more than doable. Having said that, it would be interesting to hear how you get on following your holiday. The other options were not really suitable for us (or too expensive). |

The answer to your question really depends upon whether your ticket is through or not, which is not clear from your comments and something I would want confirmed categorically. Booking through a travel agent does not mean it is a connected ticket, that Virgin and Flybe can code share does not mean it is a connected ticket. The agent could have booked as two separate tickets.
If it is a connected ticket then I would be ok with the timings, if it isn’t, I would probably want to fly to Manchester the day before. |
