Busch Gardens New Ride - Cheetah Hunt

inline imageToday theDIBB were proud to be invited to the official press release in London of the new Busch Gardens attraction opening spring 2011.

Spring 2011 sees the opening of a sensational new high speed mega attraction at Busch Gardens, Tampa, pairing man-made thrills through a new launch coaster – Cheetah Hunt – with nature’s fastest land animal the Cheetah.

Guests will immerse themselves into the realm of the cheetah, chasing its tail at speeds of up to 60 miles per hour on the new multiple-launch coaster, Cheetah Hunt. This record breaking 3 ½ minute sprint over three quarters of a mile takes riders through an African inspired landscape – mimicking the speed, power and agility of this beautiful cat with super fast twists, turns and three accelerations – before plunging 37 metres into the abyss. Riders have to be 1.2 metres tall to enjoy the thrill of Cheetah Hunt.

After thrill-seekers race across the plain on Cheetah Hunt, riders and non-riders alike can marvel at the cheetahs’ awesome speed just a whisker away at Cheetah Run, where trainers will carry out daily sprints with these super fast animals.

Those who dare can get closer than ever before to the cheetah, literally eye to eye, through elevated, glass-panelled viewing areas in the expansive habitat, part of the all new ancient realm. Here families can also explore interactive touch screens to learn even more about these big cats and how the SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund has been helping cheetahs in the wild since 2005.

For more than five decades Busch Gardens Tampa has found inspiration in its animals turning that into adventure with immersive natural habitats like the Serengeti Plain, Myombe Reserve, Edge of Africa and Jungala. Engineers have also turned it into adrenaline, capturing the spirit of animals in wood and steel with coasters like Kumba, Gwazi and SheiKra.

Cheetah Hunt Fact Sheet

Come join the hunt for excitement and experience a new breed of speed at Busch Gardens.

This new mega-attraction begins in Cheetah Run. Here at this crossroads of cultures, you’ll learn firsthand why the Cheetah has been admired for centuries. This ancient realm puts you just a whisker away from the world’s fastest land animals. Look into their eyes. See them run. It’s a new perspective guaranteed to get your heart racing.

Next take a seat on Cheetah Hunt and experience the unmatched speed and agility of the Cheetah for yourself. This one-of-a-kind launch coaster features three distinct launch points. With a burst of acceleration, you’ll leap over awestruck bystanders and twist through a rocky gorge. Then hang on as another rush of speed rockets you across the Serengeti Plain. It’s a 4,000-foot sprint that will take your breath away.

fantastic new additions for Busch gardens, everything we love about the place and makes it one of our favourites, awesome ride to go alongside their many others, and another great animal attraction like jungala, we love how you can see and learn about the tigers and orangutangs, so this area with the cheetahs looks to be brilliant too

This looks BRILLIANT!

I love the idea of the 3 launch points! Point 2 is going to be immense!

Just wish they had stuck with the rumoured name of Cheetaka, sounds a bit more intune with the rest of the coaster names at Busch, more than Cheetah Hunt
