i hate the idea of this fastpasses get booked out for the day too quickly as it is without adding in some more bookings from people who later decide not to visit the park.

Believe me this will only be for Disney Guests. It is part of their long term strategy to get more people to stay on Disney property so they can screw a few more bucks from the punters.

Yup, welcome to the 2-tier guest plan. I hope I'm wrong

Between making spontaneous dinning decisions almost impossible with so many places booked out with DDP and now the possible introduction of a fast-pass system restricted to guests with access to the appropriate technology, it seems to me that Disney do not want visitors apart from on-site guests.

Being a techie, the idea of being able to do this make me giddy.

However, we have one one guy in the office that keeps a folder which a day to day itenerary for his holidays and we all take the mickey out of him.

I couldn't do a step by step holiday. Far to regimental. I like to wing it.

It would work ok

Your stood in a line for peter pan, you put on your iphone / smart phone / PDA that WDW rent to you, you look at the list of rides, you look at the fast pass slots, you book it

Of course it would only be for WDW guests, the perks for guests need to address'ed for example, WDW guests booking ADR's at 180 days, non WDW guests 30 days

As long as they don't go down the route of Universal's fast pass system. I still think the Disney fast pass works well.

So do you need a smart phone for everyone in your party? Or can you book FP with a + next to them? I can see that being abused.

So you could fast pass the whole park before you get there? Like ADR you will have to book toy story 4 months in advance or miss out?

9am. Fast pass toy story.

10am Fast pass Stunt show.

11am fast pass starwars.

12am fastpass indy.

2pm fast pass toy story again.

AWFUL idea.

I know we have no details here, and we're all filling that void with our (un)educated guesses, but boy this system just doesn't stack up for me right now. The way the picture is building is as follows:

1. The system is only available to on-site guests.
That therefore excludes all the good Florida resident pass holders, well that will please the locals. And of course, creates a two-tier guest structure.

2. The system is available to everyone.
That's everyone who can get on a network, or Disney makes their in-park wi-fi available to all (and I'm guessing that ain't going to be free).

From what I understand the online ADR system has really skewed attendance at restaurants - people book and fail to turn up. This has in turn affected the restuarants ability to plan ahead. Online Fastpasses? I just don't get it.
