I've paid in sterling on all but my most recent visits. I think I know this.

My point is this isn't Disney driven. This is largely due to the exchange rate changes.

Hi
I think most people will be choosy now about what parks to visit, we purchased 10 day non expiry myw tickets with 10 fun visits a few years ago and they lasted a few holidays as we only do a few visits to disney and the water parks as we like to visit universal as well and also have a few rest days. They still have an odd day on them but wish I had bought more and kept them. We only ever purchased 14 day tickets once as we were going as a big family group and it made it easier with planning but for us they work out an expensive option as we prefer to stay off site and only visit a few days along with other parks, the difference in cost for us, a family of four is approx £1000 between myw for few days and 14 day ticket, we paid less than £1000 for 5 days onsite at dlp with half board at easter, so we could have another wee holiday to look forward to with that money.

We've rejigged our days so we can get a 10 day pass instead. Although the cost of that is very much tied to the exchange rate.

Here's the article I saw with the new price increases, absolutely ridiculous.

When we go back to Florida we will buy MYW tickets 1 day in each park and that's it...

£1600 for 4 adult 7 day disney tickets + parking each day..

We did the same in 2008 when the rate was $2-£1, we got 3 trips out of those tickets, and we still have some water park days left.

That's not down to Disney, though, to be fair!

Exchange rate in February - around $1.45
Exchange rate now - around $1.22

If you go for the £369 with Florida Escapes, you'd pay about 25% more than for last year, of which 20% is exchange rate and 5% is price increase.

We'll also find hotels, villas, car hire and flights going up by similar levels now we've done a dive on the pound. (Although Virgin and BA and others have staff paid in pounds, many other costs (purchase of aircraft and parts, fuel, landing slots abroad, expenses abroad, some servicing costs, etc) are denominated in dollars or euros).

I did see some people apparently assuming that the only negative effects of the exchange rate issue were on spending money conversion!

this is not just exchange rate as i said on another thread in 2010 the 14 day was £190 plus 10 dollars to park this is more than double in 7 years its a rip off! still pay the same for flights now as our first visit intact payed less last year than at any other time we have been.
