Do we need a new ESTA?

We went to Florida last September and are due to fly Saturday... our ESTA says valid until May 2018 and I’m sure when I tried to log on some time ago it said we already had ESTAs... however, just reading the thread where someone entered the wrong number and the advice was to apply for another one has made me feel uneasy about thinking we can use our existing one.

Is the ESTA a one off use document only?

It’s valid for two years.

I’m sure you can log in and check your ESTA status

Have you entered a wrong number? No?
If you have used it already and it’s still in date and you’ve not had new passports then you are good to go.
Way too much unnecessary panic surrounds ESTAs on this board

Did you print off your confirmation last time and keep it? You don't have to do so, but I find it a good way of keeping track. If your passport is still the same as last time you travelled and it is within the 2 year period, then you have a valid ESTA.

You can check on the website link Papasmurf posted. If you do not have your ESTA number you can search by passport number and surname I believe. That will tell you if you have a valid ESTA and possibly what date it ends.

If your ESTAs are valid until May 2018 and you haven't changed your passport since last September then there's no need to apply for another one. You should be good to go.

You can use the same ESTA as many times as you want until it expires or until you change your passport, whichever comes first. ESTAs are valid for 2 years from when you apply.
