$75 evening safari at AK - worth it?

I am wondering whether it is worth $75 each to go on the evening safari experience AK rather then just go on one of the regular evening safari rides at the park?

Has anyone done this at all?

If we do it it will be as a birthday surprise for my DH but if it isn't worth the $150 I could buy him some Lego instead and just fastpass the regular safari in the evening?

We did Savour the Savana during the day in 2017.

For my money it was worth every penny. Great behind the scenes experience with food and drink.

The value of these things is without doubt a personal thing and we are all different.

Are you talking about the starlight safari at AKL? We did that one a few years ago. There was not too many people, we all had our own night vision goggles and the guide was really informative about the animals. We enjoyed it.
Worth the money, probably not but it was a nice experience.

We have booked to do the starlight safari in a couple of weeks for our sons birthday, we are looking forward to having the night vision goggles to see the animals

I'm sure Helen did this on her last trip, I'll see if I can find the report. I think I remember she wasn't that impressed by it for the price!

ETA: Note that the evening one is at AKL not AK. So it's only the animals that are in the resort's savannah. Still nice, but don't go expecting the exciting ones like lions or you'll be more disappointed than on the ride.
