Here now - monorail question

Hi we took the monorail from MK to the TTC this afternoon and i was excited about my kids realising the monorail was going to go through the Contemporary resort. Except it didnt! Did i get this wrong? I thought I had read somewhere that the monorail went through the hotel? Are there different routes?

Hi There are 2 different monorails. 1 is the 'resort' monorail that goes through the Contemporary and the other goes to MK and Epcot

Oh ok, so if I wanted to catch the one that goes through the Contemporary where would i catch it if I'm staying offsite? Or is this one for Disney guests only?

Anyone can ride it. I believe you can catch it from TTC or from the magic kingdom. we always get it from there

The 'resort' monorail just basically goes in a loop taking in the magic kingdom and going through the contemporary and stopping at the Grand Floridian and the Polynesian. come to think of it I am not sure you can get from the TTC but defo from MK

Both tracks run through the Contemporary Resort it just depends which one you get on and from where. From the TTC you will need to get on the express track and from MK you will need to get on the resort track to go through the hotel.
The EPCOT track is completely separate from the above.

OP : to go through Contemporary :

board the Express monorail, and you'll go through the hotel on your way to MK. (if you take the monorail at MK and go to TTC, you will only go through Grand Floridian and Polynesian, but, you can also do the loop, stay on the monorail at TTC, the go back to MK (through CR, even get off at CR for a visit if you want)

or board the resort monorail at MK the first stop will be contemporary (then TTC, Poly, Grand Floridian and MK again)
if you board the resort monorail at TTC, you will go through Poly, GF, MK and if you stay on the monorail you'll go through CR and then back at TTC

doing the full loop around the lagoon will take you around 20 minutes, and is a nice experience if you get to sit on the monorail

just to clarify, there are 3 monorail lines

BIB : the "other monrail" only calls at MK and TTC
to go to EPCOT you need to transfer at TTC and take the TTC-EPCOT monorail line
