Universal in August without Folp.

Is this manageable? We would be looking at doing 7 days at cabana bay so would get early entry. We’d probably look at doing a day at seaworld whilst there as well, so could we get everything done in that time? We stayed at Rpr last time and loved it, but cabana bay would be 600 pound cheaper and I’m trying to make the next trip a bit more affordable!

Perfectly manageable, especially if you have the early entry.
We only stay onsite one night so the rest of the time we don’t have the passes and it’s fine

Easily doable, we've done both parks in 2 days in August without missing anything.

We are in universal every August/ September. Personally we are a family of 4 and I wouldn’t do universal without folp now!
Last year gringots was still in the 180/240 minutes most afternoons!
It always seems busy in the parks regardless.
That’s been our experience.

Depends when in August.

We’ve been the last week the last three years and it’s been really quiet. We’ve had folp but would have been fine without.

If it was the beginning though I don’t think I’d be without them.

This thread covers the same and is still active. Aug rather than July, but perhaps more appropriate as the queues will be horrendous without folp.

It does quieten down significantly mid August as the Americans go home for various reasons (hurricane season and end of school holidays)

We did a night at RPR and it added £400 (with food) to the cost making our trip to Universal alone over £1200 for a family of 4

We had FOLP in the middle of last August and it enabled us to get on rides multiple times but we also did a couple of days in the last couple of weeks of August without it and were able to get on plenty of rides by getting in at opening. The longest we waited without FOLP was 45 minutes for Transformers although minions was a lot longer so we didn't bother.

We are staying at Sapphire Falls for 8 nights in the middle of August this year and as it is over £800 cheaper than the cheapest FOLP hotel, we thought we would rather spend the money on something else and go without FOLP. After last years experience and with plenty of days to go in to the parks as we are doing nothing else in that time I am confident we will get everything done a few times.

We are planning on early entry and evenings after chilling by the pool in the afternoon so should get about 6 hours a day minimum in the parks. I know we will miss the FOLP after being used to having it and being able to get off RRR, go straight back round and be on it in under 10 minutes but the saving was to much to not try it.

That’s an awful lot extra, but I have been at all times in August and first week in September, and just never found it worth doing without folp,I must be unlucky, bondy.
