Likewise we tried many time over the years but due to scrubs never managed to see a Shuttle launch. We did eventually manage to see 2 SpaceX Falcon 9 launches - one from Jetty Park and a second from inside KSC at the Saturn V center bleachers - amazing view and sound from there would love to do that again and from Princess Alison's pics above LC-39 gantry is even better.

We've also seen quite a few night-time launches in the distance from Orlando but have never gone over to the coast for those - yet! Fingers crossed for a launch on our next trip.

Would love to see Space X Starship lunch / landing one day.

We have just spent 2 months at cocoa beach, and watched loads of launches. Who knew SpaceX launches so many rockets. We also watched the drone ships (a shortfall of gravitas and just read the instructions) bring the boosters back the following days. The noise of the rockets is amazing, even during the early hours, we could hear it in the apartment. Only once did we have a sonic boom.
Blue Origin is due up in the next week.
If anyone is interested in the launches, Space Flight Now on YouTube is excellent to watch, they start broadcasting an hour before, and then join with SpaceX cameras , so you see the boosters landing on the drone ships.

I have come back to the UK a space geek 😳.

What a great description and fantastic to read of your experiences - there is something almost indescribable about the noise and how it creeps up to you and then the roar. I agree many people are surprised about the number of Space X launches (and others) and it certainly is a huge step forward from Gemini/Apollo and the Shuttle time intervals with even more progress to come.

I'm sorry I've not had time to keep updating the launch schedule during the Christmas/New Year period but liked everyone else it has been a busy time.

I did similar but luckily launch was just put back about 3 hrs when I got there, it was freezing waiting though as it was January that’s the only thing with launches, they’re quite unpredictable!

In the future , if you are watching daytime launches, and the time is pushed back, there’s a small mall at Merrit Island to have a wander round. Also a huge Walmart, just incase you feel the urge to shop. Might keep you a bit warmer.

Thanks for that, it was freezing! We were at the Marriott rooftop bar viewing area so felt even colder, didn’t help that I was also being sick every hour or so! I was desperate to see the launch though and even managed yo get through the uber ride from Disney ok! It was really nice actually as we got talking to lots of Americans and they went down to their cars to get me some warmer clothes, bless them!

I was watching this. It seemed to be getting pushed back all the time before finally being scrubbed 😕
