We went for the Sunday in the end. Our cruise docks at Miami on the Saturday morning so I’m planning to book a hotel for the night so we can explore a bit of Miami (and maybe do some last minute shopping) before we head home 🙂

Just looked at the prices now, they are now £50pp cheaper, staying up to 1am doesn't looked like it helped

Yes, it made no difference to our booking but I guess you never know until you try it. As we’re outside BAs book with confidence policy the price would have to drop quite a bit to make it worth cancelling and lose the deposit now so I think I’ll try not to look at flight prices now…

Just a quick, may seem stupid question, if you are booking on release day do you mean 14 days after, if you are returning?

For example if I book for October 10th 2022 on release date, I can't book the return for 14 days?

So when I do book it's not release date ?

You would book on the day your return flight is released. Some people have managed to get a good deal by booking at 1am on the day of release. Didn’t work for me but it may depend on your dates, cabin class or route so it’s worth a try 🙂

If you are booking a cash fare, you can't realistically book until the release date for your return flight (you can, but two one way fares will be expensive). You can book one way with Avios on BA outbound on the day of release, and add the return when that date is released.

We will be covered by BA flexible booking policy and if flights drop in price we can change them, I did the same thing for this year's flights although obviously cancelled in the end 🤦
Is it easy to change the flights with BA under the flexible booking policy? Sounds too good to be true. I am tempted if it is easy to do.

It doesn’t seem that easy, you need to apply via the website, wait for it to get approved, then they give you a voucher, you then have to buy the flight again. During which point the flight price could have changed and you could potentially end up worse off.

I don’t like the sound of that. Think I’ll wait it out 😬

I booked last night which is a week after our flights were released and it dropped by around £100pp. They were over £600 at release, and I got them for £527pp including a 1 night hotel stay so I could book with the £150 deposit option, with the final payment due 3 weeks before we fly.
