Ill Doggie , was given overdose by vet! Sad Update 23/10/21
Well my poor dog!
She has been excessively drinking water and not eating so took her to vets, they sent her home with painkillers and antibiotics, well she cried a all night so took her back to vets Vets then thought it was gall bladder so husband dashed off tho the vet hospital about 30 miles away for op After checking and scans it wasn’t the gall bladder, they think it might be pancreatitis or they don’t really know Any way the vet hospital just rang and said they had mistakenly given her a double dose of sedative last night but they think she will be ok I am fuming Would you complain? I feel like they don’t know what they are doing Edie Edited at 05:38 PM. Reason: Update |

Oh god thats awful. While I appreciate mistakes happen I would want to know exactly how it happened and how on earth they are going to prevent it happening again. Hope your dog is okay x

Your poor dog! I hope she makes a quick recovery.
Yes I would make a complaint. They need to change the way they do things so this doesn’t happen again! |

She is back home but still unwell, she is pacing around and won’t eat
I will be calling my local vets again tomorrow and be making an official complaint to the dog hospital that gave her the overdose x |

We had a similar thing happen. My cat was extremely poorly and they gave her double dose of pain killers. They had to rush her kidneys out. They apologised and paid for her treatment. She then spent 2 weeks at the vets before being diagnosed.
Definitely make a complaint, just so they can look into what happened and make improvements.

I hope your dog is better and making a full recovery - I would definitely complain .It’s the same as if a doctor did it to a human .
