Suggestions for a 82 year old birthday please

Really struggling with this this year so any suggestions will be appreciated . Mil is 82, we are taking her to the theatre and out for lunch and her grandsons have arranged flowers . Is there anything else We could get for her to open that isn’t smellies, jewellery, chocolate or clothing . What do you get for people who have everything they need ?

We love to make our own ‘memory books’ each year for my parents. We basically find our most favourite photos of all the family and you can also pop little comments next to or underneath the pics. We have also done the same with calendars and the response has always been lovely. It sounds as though you have great plans in place already!

I think for someone or a certain age who has everything they need/want, then giving your time to them is more precious than anything.

Sorry, I should have said that there are online stores that can make super professional looking photo books but I like the home made scrapbook types ones.

Sounds like you have some great ideas lined up already but yes it is nice to have a physical gift to open too

Could you make her a little food hamper?
Depends on what kind of thing she likes but afternoon tea/or luxury cheese/chutney& crackers type ones seems popular for that age group. Basically chose any luxury versions of her favourite foods items and maybe things she won’t buy for herself very often and pop them in a hamper/basket and wrap in cellophane so it looks a bit fancy.

I usually add things like single serve xmas pudding & xmas cake. Little packs of wrapped biscuits and those tiny jars of jam you can get think small enough portions that they can eaten in one go.

A paddle board lesson, my elderly neighbour loves her pb lessons and is teaching me and she is 80+.

I gave an elderly friend a walk with an alpaca, she was blown away, had a fab time.

We've started getting my nanna DVD box sets. She gets bored with what's on TV and enjoys rewatching old classics such as Keeping Up Appearances, Porridge, Are you being served to name a few.
