Idle thumbs ! After my operation !

So I wrote a post last Monday saying I was waiting to go to theatre to have my appendix removed.

Sadly the operation had a few complications which ended up with me having a laparotomy and 2 nights in intensive care. Thankfully after 9 nights in hospital I am back home. Albeit with a 10in scar down my stomach so now I am going to have a very long road to recovery.

To pass away the time, Dh suggested looking at prices to go back to Florida, sooner rather than later ( the poor man thought he was going to lose me, and was told by the doctors that I was very poorly) I think it has given him a shock. Normally he has nothing to do with holidays or booking them, he leaves it up to me.

So this morning whilst on bed rest I have been pricing up for October/November time. It will be next year, but used this year as a guide !

Flights, tix, villa & car hire are coming to £6300 for 18 nights 5 people.
I then priced up universal RPR 5 nights, OKW 9 nights and a 4 night cruise or beach stay. It's pricing up at £2600 more. Hopefully that would include DDP, folp at RPR and food during the cruise.

Having never stopped in a villa, it's a difficult one ! We loved RPR & OKW last year, and loved being onsite.

For all you seasoned dibbers, would you pay the extra ? I'm not sure how much we would need to budget for food if we stayed in a villa, as we had DDP last year and only ate in the Disney bubble. Apart from a couple of meals at universal.

If nothing else, it is giving me something to do whilst getting better !

Poor you my 6 year old DD had same op 2 years ago which also resulted in complications and an intensive care stay so I know what you have been through, good excuse for a holiday though hope you feel better soon
