Where to stay in Seattle
We are taking a break from Florida and venturing further afield to Seattle. Has anyone been and have any recommendations of the best area to stay in?

We were there last summer. As we had a car (we started in Vancouver, then VI, then Seattle and finally Whistler) we booked an apartment through Airbnb which cost €700 for a week. It was in a residential area (Queen Anne's). We got the bus into the downtown which took about 15 minutes.
We bought the Citypass which was great. We did the Aquarium, the music Museum, a boat tour, the Seattle Tower (the Space Needle), and the Museum of Flight through the pass. For the latter it was useful to have the car! We also did a tour of Boeing (DH loved this and even the kids found it interesting), went to a baseball game and a pre-season American football game and the Chiluly museum (my favourite). We also wandered around Seattle, ate several times at the market (DD still talks about one of the meals! ) and went outlet shopping. The car was worth having as it gave us the possibility to see around Seattle too. If you can, think about going to Vancouver Island. We stayed in Ucluelet (on the west Pacific coast) and it is now one of my favourite places ever! If you have any questions, I can try to help!

Thank you for your reply. It's very helpful. We are actually going to Vancouver for the second week so looking forward to that. Will check out airbnb for rentals. Will have a car as DH is desperate to going to Boeing! I may come back if I need to ask anything else 😃

We stayed at Hyatt Place Seattle/Downtown which was just around the corner from the Space Needle. Great hotel, huge room and complimentary breakfast. The location was perfect and everything was easy to get to on foot as we didn't have a car.

We stayed here. It seems to have gone up in price (probably because of the exchange rate.) We really liked it as it gave us space, had washing facilities (we were on an almost 4 week trip) and had some lovely cafés within a 2minute walk. We didn't mind getting the bus into downtown either - they were always on time.
We only booked Boeing 2 days before the visit. Don't take a bus tour if you have a car. The tickets for 4 of us were less than one bus tour and all you got extra was the transport! We combined the visit with a trip to the outlet stores north of Everett. If you are a foodie you will love Pike Market!

We stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Seattle, great location near shops and restaurants, it had a Starbucks and steak house attached to it. We loved Seattle, went to a baseball game (Seattle Mariners), space needle, Cheesecake Factory, and the zoo. We weren't there long as we were doing an Alaskan cruise from there.
