"Free" Dining Plan Price Increase 2021

Hey

Currently have a trip planned for September 2020 - looks like its not going to happen, so either need to cancel all together or move to next year.

Its been a good few year since we did a WDW trip, so for people with experience how much has non-dining-plan packaged increased when "Free Dining" is announced. Just trying to get a rough idea.

Ok that's really really interesting.
When I booked a few years back the prices increased approx £150 - based on the same search criteria (expect one include the free dining plan - which cause the increased).

What about booking now, before the Dining Plan is announced, is there an option to them call them after announcement and ask them to add it on.

My trip for this year was £120 more with free dining than it was without.

Some resorts may increase in price a little, some go down. There’s no specific “rule”.

Its is possible the free dining commences when the free nights ends, thus the increase

All bets are off.
If the virus clears up, vaccine, people are confident enough etc demand could be through the roof and there will be no free dining.
Can also envisage a scenario where it’s still about but open- you have to be on site to go, restaurant capacities 50%. If demand is there for that in the domestic market there will be no free dining.
If it’s back to normal but massive recession and unemployment and people don’t want to travel, bit like post 9/11- then the deals will be very good indeed.
Suspect Disney has no idea yet.

It doesn't work like that though. Free nights starts after free dining ends generally runs from November to March/April for the current year, except for right at the start when it's for the following year. Histoeically UK free dining is always for the following year eg:
Free nights promo for 2020 started in November/December last year after free dining ended, and ran to March/April this year. It only applied to 2020 holiday dates That was the final offer for 2020 as free dining for 2020 ran before it from March - November 2919.
If free dining is released, it will be for 2021, and the free nights prices were only applicable for 2020. They have no impact on 2021 prices at all.

I agree with some regret.

Post virus the world will change for a long long time. Forget what it was, it will take years to get back and in some sectors.,never
